I warned you when you came
the shadows were a lonely place
once you step into the shadows
there is no turning back.
Such kindness i had not seen
before the destruction of my kind
i didnt want you to be like them...
i placed a curse of darkness apon my head
wandering from shadow to shadow
burned by the light
forgotten before i could be remembered
lost before i could be found
one hand reaching out to save me.
yours.
now my darkness is no darker
than looking through life
through the thinnest sunglasses
no longer hidden in the darkness
now walking in the sun
and i touch your face and make sure
this isnt just a dream.
may this not be a dream
but to a reality
for in this forest of life
